Subject: Feline Nutrition

Welcome to this edition of the Bengal & Siamese Newsletter.

Today, I'd like to talk a little about some of the dangers human food poses to cats. We often figure since
we can eat it, it must be ok for our pet to eat it too.

We have all given our cats tuna on different occasions. In the last few years, it's been discovered that tuna
can be high in mercury which is a toxin. Raw fish can contain tapeworms which can interfere with a cat's
ability to digest food. Raw fish can also cause thiamin deficiency in cats.

Milk is another common human food given to cats. Most cats are lactose intolerant. Milk can cause digestive
upset, vomiting and diarrhea.
